The food, wine and ambience was nice and the waiter was polite. However, he also mixed up our meals with the couple behind us. Lucky for us since we actually ended up getting the last of what we originally wanted to order and unfortunate for them because they got our second choice order (even though they arrived before us) and the chef had gone on break.
Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and it was perfect for an anniversary dinner. However, the service should have been more attentive and the waiter was not exactly on the ball. I would go back but not anytime soon.

My sister who lives in North Toronto recommended this place, while my husband and I were visiting from Scottsdale, AZ. Very impressed. Chalkboard selections are fun and delicious. Wait staff are knowledgable and not pushy. The wine menu was limited, but focused...emphasis on new world wines..California, Washington State, Australia etc. Hard not to be tempted by everything on the menu, which is also very focused. Starters: Baby spinach and Beet, maple vinaigrette and a caesar salad (which was the best I'd ever had)
Mains: New York Striploin, med/rare, chive butter....(once again..perfect steak...and we love steak!), seared sea bass...very nice. Overall...impressive. BTW...sit by the kitchen...watch it all go down.
I wanted to take my mother out to a nice restaurant that was overtly fancy yet had great prices and good atmosphere. Lemon Bistro was perfect. The lighting was nice and dim but not too dark. (You could see your food. lol) The music was a mix of soft lounge music that was played at a subtle volume. The waiter assisted us Right away. Bringing us water immediatley. He asked for our drink order. When he came back with our drinks, he then asked what we would like to start with....etc. very charming man. Not OVERLY friendly which is good. I dislike phony waiters. He was genuine. The food was perfect. Our steaks were prepared EXACTLY how we asked. Nothing was under/over cooked. I would def. recommend this place. Remember to make reservations for Friday though. It gets BUSY! Nice cozy place, can't wait to bring other people.
