All things considered, a very nice pub experience. Interior is very private and well lit. Our party came late in the night and the kitchen was still open, which is a plus. However, had to ask for service but understandably, it was very busy.
The fish was a little too crispy. The chips were a little too salty. Thankfully water was available. The Irish cream was surprisingly strong but enjoyable.
Service was exceptional, I didn't mind the delays in the orders. Friendly aura and very welcoming. I'll be looking forward to coming back!
I was quite thrilled to see such a wonderful dish on a pub menu, and knew right away it was what I wanted to order.
I waited patiently drinking my pint feeling very excited for this exquisite meal... when it came out, I was reminded that I was eating in a pub. The breading on the chicken was slightly burnt and the chicken was just a little too dry. The rosemary sauce was wonderful, and I really enjoyed the flavours.
The garlic mash was perfect, and I would definitely have this as a side of any meal I order at this restasurant.
The vegetables were fresh and was made up of a mixture of 'carmelised' (by this I mean burnt in some places) Mirepoix with sweet peppers. It seems to me that this cooking method was accidental, I will admit though, that it was still quite tasty.
I would describe the waitress as a 'Space Cadet', but she did the best job she could... considering there was a whole other table of 2 to serve as well.

It took 10 min for us to get a server. When he finally came he explained that they were understaffed. As an ex-server myself I can identify with this and understand. His service was fantastic, when he finally got to us. Polite funny, GREAT server. The Steak was amazing, served with vegetables that were actually fresh were talking like nicely stirfried, snow peas and stuff. And it was very inexensive for steak. As the service timing lacked I thought the food was great, and I brought 2 friends with me a month later as they were hungry.
Before going to this restaurant however beware, read my next review. My second experience left little to be desired and the service was the worst I have EVER had.

I just don't think these people get it. Nice facelift for a dodgy area and all, which earns them bonus points, but the beauty is only skin deep. I felt as though everyone in the place was sort of pretending to be doing their jobs. Like the real staff are tied up and gagged in a closet while unskilled impostors pretend to cook, pour and serve their way through the day for god knows what purpose.
We had a waiter, who seemed cheery enough but you just knew he was going to forget everything. The kind of waiter that says "not a problem" when you order stuff? I sure as hell hope it isn't a problem. But it was. I could see it coming a mile away. If you're not listening, at least write it down. Sure enough, the orders were botched left right and centre. The food itself is average pub fare at best. I remember the bacon (product) being difficult to swallow. Going to the bathroom to the deafening sounds of Danny Boy was a horrifying experience I will never forget. Whoever is managing this place needs to step up to the plate or change their career for the good of us all.
But to be honest, with all the pubs in Guelph, there is no compelling reason to give this place another shot.
