We did read a lot of reviews about the David Duncan House and were a bit skeptical about dining here last week, We had some friends in from out of town and decided to come here for dinner,We did however drop by one afternoon and looked around and picked up a menu, We had a reservation for 6.30 pm, got seated in the lower level,nice round table in the corner, The servers were yes a bit old school but very kind and did answer all our questions.Ordered some cocktails and got some galic bread,pickles and cottage cheese, We started of with a caeser for 4 that was prepared table side, All I can say is that is was to die for,Crispy romaine rich thick salad dressing made from the scratch. Main dishes were Rack of lamb,Filet mignon,Dover sole,and Prime Rib,We also had a bottle of red shiraz that the server recommended for 39.95 that was a great complimant to our meals,I myself had the Dover sole and my wife the filet, All of our meals were very good, The vegetables were ok a bit bland,the baked and mashed potatos were good, The servers were around when needed and did look after us through our evening, We did not have any dessert just some coffee and tea, Our friends have beev raving about this place to all there friends and made it a point to tell us when ever they visit us we will be going to the David Duncan House , In my opinion the reataurant was great, Not over priced a good meal and experienced servers, It is a dining room from the past era that has been around for a long time so I guess they are donig something right, My wife and I will be visiting again soon as we enjoyed our eveing with our friends, Lire plus

Not a bad place to get some wings and beer. We have been there a couple of times and have left happy both times. The place was very busy as there was a Leaf game on and we were seated right away and served right away. Remember, you are going to a sports bar and the food is good for a sports bar. We had wings and the club house sandwich with fries and a couple of pitchers of Bud. Overall, pretty good! Lire plus

Everything was so perfect, I like the way every dish had unique flavours, fresh herbs and seasonings, the homemade smoked sambal aioli was to die for on the fritters, we bought a jar to go, the food is inventive and well executed and we will gladly make the drive from Waterloo any day for that caliber of food. Found this place one morning after a party and had breakfast with a friend. Loved the food, loved the decor. Restaurant is clean and the food is adequately priced for their downtown location. You don't feel rushed to finish up and get out - the chef guy even left a pot of coffee on our table so we could refill it ourselves. The chef guy does have an attitude but he is not obnoxious. Sometimes he gets bored and will eavesdrop on your conversation and make commentary, or crack a few jokes with you. He is authentic, and so is his restaurant. OVERALL: Just listen to Frank Sinatra - Almost Like Being In Love. And you'll be humming it after you leave Canyon Creek. Or at least i was. FOOD: The only reason it's not the Best meal ever is because yes on occasion you may get a poor cut of meat or flavorless fish. And I have been to dinner and lunch here for a few years now. But the Service keeps this review very high. SERVICE: If you have a problem with your meal they will go above and beyond to satisfy you, don't be shy, speak up and let them know because they genuinely encourage it. If you are rude to them they'll be respectful to you and politely ask you to leave. If you are nice to them they'll become your best friend. And if you treat them like you do your best friends, they'll become family. I once had a sore throat the entire day and without me asking, the waiter actually brought me a spoon and some warm honey to coat my throat. Oh my goodness. Now that is service. ATMOSPHERE: Beautiful fireplace, amazing ceiling, perfect lighting, great music, very clean, very comfortable yet elegant. Take a date she or he will love it. PRICE: Truly a place that stays true to the saying, you get what you pay for. Expensive but worth it. Lire plus

This used to be our local pub until we moved away. Great atmosphere in an old house building, great prices and decent food. Loved sitting by one of the fireplaces with a pint and a Dodger Club (with real turkey, not deli slices). The staff was very friendly and over the years we got to know many of them. They also had fun Halloween parties, great Thanksgiving style meals and holiday parties. It always had a cozy feel in the fall/winter and enjoyable patios in the spring/summer. Lire plus

Fabulous food! I have walked by on several occasions and was certainly not disappointed when finally trying their place. You can tell the food is made from scratch and with skill. The real buffalo mozzarella in the caprese is a nice change and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Ambiance was nice and relaxed, not overly noisy. Waiters are very nice and attentive. Wine list is impressive. Biagio himself was nice enough to introduce himself at our table; A very pleasant surprise. Apparently they have monthly wine tasting events too. We will definitely return.
