Business partners Karen and Sarah came together after a serendipitous discussion in cottage country in the summer of 2011. Karen, a lawyer, professional baker and mother of five, had been introduced to a unique fitness class called "Gravity" and was hooked. After a couple years driving across town to attend classes, she had decided it was time to open a studio to bring Gravity closer to her home in the north end of Toronto. Sarah had recently received her yoga teaching certification and her teacher suggested that in order to improve, she should take any and every opportunity to teach yoga. So she began offering classes on the lawn of her family cottage, and Karen, whose family cottage was nearby, began attending. They soon started the conversation about combining their talents and vision to create a studio that would cater to the niche market of Gravity classes and allow Sarah to pursue teaching yoga. Gravitate Studio was born!
