The driver only accepts cash. I didnt know this at the time I called him, but when I arrived at my hotel, he said I could pay him when I next saw him. A very trusting individual with a refreshing attitude. I paid him of course. Welcome to Tofino.
Rude driver. Poor customer service. No option so you have to use this company
Not customer friendly, a poor experience in such a welcoming town. Cash only ?! is that even legal? Had to wait over an hour in both directions from and to a restaurant and then listen to a litany of why he doesn't like his job. This guy needs competition.
Contrary to some of the other comments, my husband and i thought this guy was awesome. As a single individual running the only cab company in town, he does a stand up job. He was prompt, honest, and fun to chat with. We heard a few phone conversations while we were in the cab with him and a couple of people didn't appear to be very pleased with having to wait more than 15 mins for their cab - to those people, I say this: you're in tofino. Take a deep breath, relax, and be patient.
HE was so rude! And acted like we were a nuisance when we are payin him and his job is to drive people around.
We recieved better airport service (and it worked out to be cheaper as well, even wit the tip!) Than the orca air shuttle.
I agree with the comment on being rude. I tried to make a reservation since I was heading into town for a wedding. When i asked to book I was told to call before I needed a taxi then I explained I was advised to call in advance since there was a wedding in town, the "dude" on the phone said "well we don't do that so you'll have to call and take your chances". Seems very unreliable and dodgy. Guess that's what you get when you have zero competition.
Although the only cab driver in town during my stay, Mike was very helpful in recommending restaurant and beaches to go, and never took longer than 10 minutes to pick us up.
We were staying in Tofino and found the cab driver exceptionally helpful and funny, he recommended places to eat and things to do and was willing to accommodate our needs. What great service!
The dispatcher was so incredibly rude! We are out of towners, and we wanted to book a time for a cab to dinner... Called to inquire about what the proper etiquette was to do so, and were met with such rudeness that we ended up having 1 of our party of 6 to DD us, so that we were ensured we got to and from our night out.
