The menu online states that a dinner for 4 is $42.95, upon calling to confirm my order & cost, the man was unbelievably rude! he said I couldn’t have gotten the price from YP & a dinner for 4 (with 4 cans of pop & delivery) was $72.95! I was floored, then he argued that he didn’t say that price it was $52.95 (without pop or delivery), & told me to cancel my order if I didn’t like it. I was looking at his menu online, he again argued the price & said to cancel my order, which I did. Don’t go here
Although the food at Shanghai is good, I doubt I will ever spend my money at this restaurant again. Back in May we ordered and I guess the cook was having an off day because we got burned chicken fried rice. We called to complain that same night and got a "credit" for free rice next time. Anyhow, we ordered today and not only did we NOT get our free rice, but the guy hung up on my husband. Needles to say...our business was not appreciated therefore, we will NOT be returning.
We had their takeout the last 3 times but the dining room is nice. We enjoyed taking our time in the relaxed atmosphere. The chicken balls were nice and crispy, not soggy like some other places. I guess that is the advantage of made to order food. Mmmmm
My family have been regulars at this restaurant since my dad was a teen so 40+ years.

We had a huge party at our house for my Grandmothers Birthday and ordered a HUGE amount of food.
We drove all the way from Waterdown to Cainsville to puck it up. (This in itself should tell you about the quality and service!)
We left the store with so much food that it hardly fit in the car and the price it cannot be beat!
The whole family enjoyed the food and we had so much leftovers we sent every one home with a huge tray of food. They really did give us more then we paid for, it could be because of our ongoing patronage.
When we 'eat in' the service is attentive and always pleasant. We have been able to make substitutions with no trouble.
My only complaint is that I don't like the flavour of their Cantonese Chow Mein.... but have found an alternative in the Beef Lo Mein.
The look of the place is not fancy by any means but it has no bearing on the quality of the food. Its an old establishment that has survived and I hope that they continue to make good food for many more years to come!
This is the best Restaurant in Brantford for Chinesse food. I have been going here for years, the service is excellent the food is amazing. My Parents have been comming here for quite some time now. Just try it I don't think you will be disappointed.
Definately one of my favorite places! The restaurant isn't much to look at but the service is usually very attentive and quick, the prices are great. Usually we get it delivered and the food is always still hot when we get it. Love it!

The place is poorly decorated and the furniture sub par. The food was adequate but the menu is boring. Waitress was probably tired -it was late evening, judging by the lack of enthusiasm she served us.
Overall the place looked dirty and neglected.
This has got to be my favorite place to eat. People are nice, Prices are good. But i really don't like people trashing this store, if i happen to catch something then i wont go there any more you cant believe everything you hear
When we arrived there were only 2 tables available and the place was packed. A tired but pleasant and attentive waitress greeted us, had us seated and took our orders within minutes. The food was a little slow but with the place packed it was expected. The food was amazing. Lots of it, piping hot and fresh ingredients. We left a nice tip for excellent service.
Excellent food, with generous portions and competitive prices, served by friendly wait staff; for a casual Chinese meal with friends or family, this place is one of the best options in town. Great!!

Excellent food with excellent service. Shanghai restaurant is my favourite place to dine for large groups. Also food is discounted on larger orders. Please try the spicy shanghai noodles!
